

William Alton Deakins, Jr. (Jack or Bill) born on June 18, 1942 passed away on April 15, 2023 after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Alton Deakins, Sr. and Frances Bailey Deakins. He is survived by his wife Pauline Ann Deakins (Havelka) of 55 years, daughters Debbie Deakins, Paula Ann Collins (Ken Collins), and Lynn Ann Booth (Ritchie Booth), Grandchildren, Fahad Malaikah (Deb Moylan), Jennifer Ann Wright, John William Collins, Chelsea Nicole Booth, Tanner Jacob Booth, Step-Granddaughter Tiffany Rena Aubrey, Step-Great Grandson, Robert Lewis Aubrey.
Jack served in the Amy National Guard from 1967 to 1972 where he was honorably discharged.
Jack’s passions included show ponies and he went on to train thoroughbred race horses for over 30 years. He primarily raced horses in Nebraska, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Kentucky where he finished out his career. Besides horses, his favorite activity was fishing. He loved to fish and was known to probably tell a fish tale or two. For all those who knew him, he always had an entertaining story to share and made people laugh.
He was always willing to help out when asked and would cook huge seafood dinners anytime he had the chance. Jack will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
