William R Gahimer (Bill)
Age 75 passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2022. He had recently resided with his wife, Gail, at the Masonic Home of Shelbyville, Ky. After moving from this long-time residency of Shelbyville, Indiana, to Jeffersontown, Kentucky, in 2011.
Bill was born and preceded in death by Father William R. Gahimer and Mother Lois N. (Smith) Gahimer.
Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gail (Steiner) Gahimer, Son's Andrew G. Gahimer; (Wife, Raynelle); John R. Gahimer ; (Wife Melinda), Grandchildren Katherine E. Gahimer, Caiden G.Gahimer, Sebastian J. Gahimer, Patrick C. Tobe. Brother Robin (Corazon) Gahimer, Sister Melanie (Don) Meloche, Brother Scott (Vickie) Gahimer. His beloved dog LuLu, and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Bill was born in Calexico, Ca, and would move back to the Shelby county area with his parents. He was a Shelby senior high school grad of the class of 1966. He then enlisted in the United States Airforce, duty station, Castle Airforce Base. After he was released; from his active duty, he would return to the Shelby county area. In 1971 he enlisted in the army national guard and worked in civil service as an airframe and power plant technician for 23 years. He was retiring from the active reserve in 1994. A proud member of the Wardon Masonic lodge, the Murat Shriners, American legion post 70, and the 40-8.
His service and love of country was then followed by his love shared with Family and Friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at Zion United Church of Christ at 10 am on November 19, 2022.
