He was born on February 19, 1923, in Jeffersonville, IN, but lived most his life in Louisville, KY. Bill was a World War II-era veteran. He served as an enlisted man in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of Sergeant. He retired from the US Postal Service. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Maria Haas.
He is survived by his brother, Albert Haas (Jane); daughters, Edie Harden (Bill), Susanne Covington (Ted); and son, John Haas (Cindy). He is also survived by granddaughters, Jennifer Harden, Shannon Covington, and Lori Schueren (Nick); great-grandsons, Cameron, Tyler, and Conner; and great-great-grandson Sage.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4623 Preston Hwy. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Evergreen.
