William Mitchell Hamm, Jr., Master Sergeant, U. S. Army (Retired), 90, of Louisville, passed away at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY on the evening of January 12, 2013. He was a veteran of two wars, the Korean War and World War II. His family described him as a brilliant man who loved to read, listen to music and play the organ. He did a lot of volunteering at his church, Peniel Revival Center, and was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He also helped out with all of the different minitries that the church was involved in.
Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Pansy Hamm; a son, Kenneth Hamm and a grandson, Kenneth Mitchell Hamm.
Left cherishing his memory is his daughter, Carolyn (Ken) Brewer; grandson, Brian (Tracy) Brewer and a great-grandson, Ryan Brewer.
A Life Celebration service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens, in Cecilia, KY. A visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
