William E. "Bill" Self, 73, of Louisville, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2015. He was a native of Hopkinsville and a employee of Horseshoe Casino. He had retired from the Courier-Journal with over 33 years of service, and was a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Mae Self, and two sisters, Genevia Foster and Shirley Cottrell.
Left cherishing his memory is his loving wife of 17 years, Saundra Reichle Self; children, LeeAnn Witten, John Shacklette and Greg (Hope) Shacklette; brother, Larry Self (Phyllis), sister-in-law, Jackie Cottrell; brother-in-law, Albert (Mary) Reichle; and five grandchildren, Ashley, Brittany, Hunter, Sienna and Harmon.
A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-8 at the funeral home.
