Wilma (Payton) Green

Wilma was born in Butler County, Kentucky on December 30, 1929 to parents’ Compton & Maggie (Cummings) Payton. She was a member of the Beechland Baptist Church, a homemaker and a retired childcare worker for South Louisville Childcare. She had a love for kids, her grandchildren and especially babies.

Her parents, Compton & Maggie (Cummings) Payton; her husband of 72 years, William Preston “Bill” Green; a son, Jerry L. Green; and siblings, Queen Payton, Jewell Farmer & Kenneth Payton precede Wilma in her passing.

Left to cherish her unforgettably humble memory is her 3 sons, Larry (Cheri) Green, Steve (Holly) Green and Mark Green; 11 – grandchildren; 15 – great – grandchildren and 2 – great – great – grandchildren; siblings, Yvonne Mayberry, Kendle Payton & Avene Cusick; plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums where she will rest for eternity alongside her husband, Bill. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
