Calvin Early Flint

Calvin Early Flint was born November 20,1940 in Baskin, Louisiana to Clarence and Harriett Flint. He was the 6th of 8 children. At the age of 18, he joined the army and ended up spending time in Germany. He loved it there and always joked that if the army knew how much fun he had, they would kick him out. On December 3, 1971, he met and married Dawn Ratzlaff and they raised 3 daughters;Dawnette Ratzlaff Sosnowy, Lisa (Flint) Detamore and Tammy Flint They moved around to a few different states and in 1992, Calvin and Dawn divorced. Calvin was and remained a very loving, devoted father.

He could tell the best stories. They were funny stories but the way he told them made them way funnier because he would be laughing so hard, you couldn’t help but laugh.

Calvin loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids and always had time to play with them or hug and love on them.

Calvin passed away on December 28, 2023 in Greeley, Colorado after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He will be missed so much but we also rejoice knowing he’s in Heaven!

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Harriett, brothers Clarence, Martin, Vernon, Nolen and his sister Barney (Flint) McDonald. He is survived by his sisters Harriett (Flint) Powell, Sue (Flint) Poole, his 3 daughters Dawnette, Lisa and Tammy, grandchildren Shanna Ratzlaff, Dylan Ratzlaff, Mayele Remington, Crystal Sosnowy, Ashley Sheaman, David Sheaman, Rhianne Detamore, Allen (Annie) Flint, Shianne (Levon) Jones, Christian Welch, Makaylee Caudle; great grandchildren Dezmond Ratzlaff,

Devonte Ratzlaff, Logan Vlasek, Leila Ratzlaff, baby Flint due May 2024 to Allen and Annie and baby Sheaman, due May 2024 to David.
