Carol developed a love of reading, music and theater at a young age and continued those pursuits for most of her life. She sang in church choirs in both Kansas and Colorado, including Loveland’s First United Methodist Church in the 1960s and 1970s. She also enjoyed playing the flute and piano. Her involvement with the thespians in high school carried over to the Loveland Community Theatre where she sang and acted in numerous plays, including “You Can’t Take It With You,” “Mame,” “The King and I,” and “My Fair Lady.”
Carol loved the water and spent many of her younger summer evenings and weekends water skiing on Lake Loveland before trading in the boat for a backyard pool. She was always up for trying something new, was a huge sports fan, especially of the Colorado Rockies, and loved animals. For much of her life, Carol had Siamese cats; however, she most recently found great comfort in a robotic cat she fondly named Fred. Fred has now found a new home where he is being lovingly watched over by Carol’s great granddaughter Margaret.
Carol was one of the first women to hold the position of Buyer for Hewlett Packard, where she worked for over 20 years. She was fiercely independent and maintained a great sense of humor, a sharp wit (and sometimes a sharp tongue), and an incredible memory, even at age 90.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and seven older sisters. She is survived by her children, Steven Huber of Denver, Susan (Ken) Kaiser of Las Vegas, NV, and Karen (Paul) Chung of Berwyn, PA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark), Matthew, Amanda (Mike), Kevin, Jamie & Juliane; and great grandchildren, Emily, Margaret, Henry & Wyatt, who lovingly referred to her as Grandma GG.
The family finds comfort in knowing her body has been restored into the loving arms of Jesus and that the Thompson girls are having quite a joyous, heavenly reunion.
As she wished, her remains will be scattered in Rocky Mountain National Park in the fall.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.allnuttloveland.com for the Beatty family.
