Dale graduated from Fairfield High School in 1950 then enlisted in the United States Navy on June 21, 1950. After his honorable discharge on April 23, 1954, he earned his Bachelor's degree from Montana State in 1958. Dale married Alice Tilleman and they made their home in Loveland, CO.
Dale enjoyed studying history, economics and geography. He also was a skilled handyman in his spare time.
Dale was laid to rest in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO with full military honors.
