

Dennis Leland Carlson was born on July 31, 1933 on a farm near Brandon, South Dakota. He lived in Canova, Valley Springs and Garretson, South Dakota. Dennis passed away on November 24, 2023 in Loveland, Colorado.
He spent 8 years in the US Air Force and flew bombing missions over North Korea, after returning to the states he was stationed at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he flew support missions for the Atomic Energy Commision during the atomic bomb tests in Nevada.
Dennis met and married Wanda Joan McMurrough in 1955, and after discharge in 1960 he was hired by AT&T as a Communications Technician in Phoenix, Arizona.
He was then transferred back to Albuquerque in 1963 and supervised the maintenance of numerous microwave stations in New Mexico. In 1971 was transferred back to Phoenix, supervising the administration and as the Network Manager of the long distance switching networks in Arizona. From there, he was transferred to Denver, Colorado in 1976 as a Network and Facilities Manager for the Mountain Bell Region. He later became an AT&T National Service Manager for large corporations. Dennis retired from AT&T in 1988 and moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1997.
Dennis and Wanda did lots of voluntary work; from working with The Salvation Army to back-to-school supply drives, working in the community kitchen, aiding seniors with home repairs and often helping with the Trinity United Methodist functions.
He loved playing golf, fishing and the great outdoors - he and Wanda traveled to many places, Korea, Japan, China, Hawaii, Alaka, Ireland, Puerto Rico, South America, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and a vast amount of places in the United States.
Dennis and Wanda had two sons, Alan and Bryan. Dennis is preceded in death by his son Bryan, parents Arvid and Ida and his five brothers.
Dennis requested to be cremated with no services to be held.
