Dorothy Lucille Allen

Dorothy L. (Walston) Allen of Loveland, CO (age 92) passed away on Wednesday, January 20,2021 at McKee Medical Center. She was born January 15,1929 to Leo Walston and Leona (McNeese) Walston in Atchison County, Missouri. She was the oldest of 7 children

Dorothy was raised in Missouri and Iowa. She graduated high school in Tabor, Iowa in 1947. She met her husband James LeRoy Allen in Iowa and married in Hamburg, Iowa on March 15,1949. They moved to Colorado in 1951. Dorothy worked at Colorado Crystal in Loveland, Kodak Windsor and Wal-Mart Loveland.

Dorothy loved her weekend trips to the mountains, RFD TV, trips to Branson and going dancing in the past 15 years. Her hobbies were embordering of tea towels and making quilts. Her kids and their families were her favorite conversation. Most of all she loved spending time with family & friends. The family joke is how she would go to McDonalds every day if she could.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her husband, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 step-daughter and 2 step- grandkids. She is survived by Phyllis (John) Huston, Jim (Linda) Allen, Wanda (Beezer) Cruise, Danny (Dianne Merritt) Allen, Connie (Brian) Wolf, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren plus several step-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother, several nieces, nephews and cousins plus good friend James Moore.

Visitation will be Wednesday at Allnutt Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm.

Private grave side services will be Thursday.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers that you make donations to St. Judes Children Hospital or a charity of your choice.
