Estella Irene Colby, 82, of Loveland, CO, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the Pathways Inpatient Care Center in Ft. Collins, CO. Estella was born on March 3, 1943 in Ottawa, KS to Wilson Murrell and Velma Irene (Rice) Atchison.
Estella moved to Denver with her parents and sister, Crystal in 1952. While there she worked for General Electric and met and married her husband, Randy Colby, who was serving in the United States Air Force. They were married at Lowry Air Force Base Chapel in September 1963. After they married, they moved to California, where they had their son, William. Prior to Randy’s retirement, they traveled to New Mexico, Ohio, Arizona, Colorado, Germany and New York. After Randy’s retirement, they returned to Colorado and settled in Loveland. Estella worked for Hobby Lobby until she retired. She enjoyed being a member of the Loveland Historical Society, Fiber Arts and Quilters and numerous Veteran organizations.
Estella is survived by her son, William Colby; daughter-in-law, Kathryn Colby; grandchildren, Jonathon and his wife, Aleigha and Mary; great-grandchild, Sean and her cousin, Yvonne. She also leaves behind her cherished dog, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Crystal and her husband, Randy.
A visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 followed by a Celebration of Estella's Life at 2:00 p.m. both at Allnutt Funeral Service - Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland.
