Heather passed on September 29th, 2020 at the age of 45 at her care facility in Loveland, Colorado. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a fiery and unique soul and could befriend anyone and captivate a room with her storytelling. She was passionate about her family and her career and always pushed herself to new heights with great ambition. From the beginning, Heather was ready to fight as hard as she could for as long as possible and that’s exactly what she did. Since the day she was told 6 years ago that her cancer had returned, her motto was, “Someone always beats the odds!”. She continued to repeat this even into the weeks before her passing. With so many discouraging diagnoses at every turn, she held her head high and never backed down. She volunteered for any clinical trial she could find, not only for herself, but also in hopes that her experiences and results could be used to help others fighting cancer. Her strength and determination will forever be admired. Heather is survived by her husband, Tyler Wood, oldest daughter and son-in-law, Taryn and Taylor Slaton, her youngest daughter, Daelynn Wood, her parents, John and Colleen Modin, her brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Lauren Modin and their three children, her sister, Heather Guerzon and her daughter, and many more friends and family members that will forever miss her and cherish the memories they have. She would want anyone that knew her to honor her memory by always remembering to “Scatter kindness” wherever you go. There are currently no formal services arranged.
