

She grew up in Scotland and moved to the United States in 1974. She lived briefly in Lindenhurst, Illinois, then in Phoenix, Arizona in 1977, and settled in Loveland, Colorado in 1992.
Marion attended Forfar Academy and the Dundee College of Education in Scotland where she studied English Literature and History. She also attended Scottsdale Community College in Arizona.
She was a key member of the Forfar Academy Swim Team which she helped win several county championships. She loved the outdoors fulfilling this by hiking the mountains of Scotland in her youth. Her favorite pastime was a passion for reading. In addition to raising two boys, she devoted her time to volunteer work at The American Heart Association and the Loveland Library where she helped evaluate vintage books. Marion was also a participating member in the Red Hat Society. She expanded her passion for reading by leading several book clubs in Loveland and was an avid bridge player who played in several groups. Her extensive knowledge was sought after by many. Marion also was quite the expert Jeopardy fan and was selected to be a contestant on the show but was vacationing in Scotland at the time. Her wit and humor came to light in the Mexican Train game where she religiously played with friends and family. She also loved to watch the noir movies on TCM on Saturday evenings, but would not hesitate to change the channel for a John Wayne film.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Elizabeth Lowe along with her brother William Lowe. She is survived by her husband Skene Black, sons Skene, and Euan Black, brother James Lowe, and grandchildren, Aislynne, Skene, and Cameron Black along with sister in-law Margaret Millar, brother in-law James Black, and daughter in-law Rebecca Black. She made the world a better place to the ones she touched on two continents and will be greatly missed by the ones whom she touched and loved.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 29th at Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave, Loveland CO 80538. Flowers can be sent here.
