

He was born in Sabinoso, NM [Canon Largo] on November 25, 1921 to Agapito and Tomasita Apodaca Martinez. Both parents passed away in Cheyenne, WY. He was married to Maxine Martinez for 57 years. Him and Maxine raised two children, Marvin G. Martinez and Marilyn Martinez in Cheyenne, WY. Prior to marriage, Marvin served his country as a Sergeant in World War II from 1939 to 1943 as a combat engineer. Marvin received a Bachelor of Arts in Theology, became a Horologist/Gemologist, and was an Ordained Minister. He encouraged the pursuit of obtaining an education. He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as a Foreman after 35 years of service. In addition, Marvin achieved the position of District Superintendent of Sunday Schools, Spanish Assembly of God.
Marvin was wholeheartedly devoted to God, Christ and his Church, Spanish Assembly of God in Loveland and Ft. Collins. He was an avid reader, including the Bible, Old and New Testaments. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Maxine and they travelled to Mexico on their 50th wedding anniversary.
Marvin loved God first, his family and others and could always quickly display a sharp sense of humor and wit. His family meant everything to him. He was generous and loving towards all of them. Marvin taught everyone to be happy and content, no matter what circumstances were at hand.
Marvin was loved and is missed at the North Shore Health and Rehab facility for his good sense of humor, spirituality, intelligence, knowledge, and love for others.
Marvin is preceded in earthly death by his wife, Maxine Martinez, siblings, Joe Martinez, Lucy Martinez, Jessie Martinez, and Pauline Roper.
Marvin is survived by his sons, Tony Martinez and Marvin G Martinez, daughter, Marilyn Martinez, six grandchildren: Tim Martinez, Marcos Martinez, Celestina Martinez, Tiara Martinez, Adriana Walton, and Felicia Perez and eight great grandchildren: Mikayla Martinez, Marissa Martinez, Augustine Martinez, Marcos Martinez Jr, Madison Martinez, Mia Martinez, Matea Settle, and Beckam Settle and finally one great great grandchild, Roman Rascon.
A Celebration of Life Service and luncheon were held for Marvin on Monday, April 10th, 2023 at Casa Del Padre Church in Loveland, Colorado. Following the service and luncheon, Marvin was placed to eternal rest at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Collins, Colorado. His family extends their gratitude to all those that were able to attend.
