Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Cain, and her partner, Anthony Kosakewich, the father of her children. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Cain (Fort Collins); sisters, Sheri Hayes and Deborah Allison (Loveland); children Casey and Caleb Kosakewich (Fort Collins); nieces Shauna and Mariah Hayes (Loveland); and great nieces, Nevaeh and Pyper (Loveland).
Rhonda was born July 5, 1965, in Denver. An energetic, happy girl, Rhonda preferred climbing trees to playing with dolls and working with Dad on cars to learning to cook – or any of the other traditional things little girls did. She adored her father, especially watching him serenade her mother with Elvis Presley songs on the guitar and race his jeeps: HurriCain I, II and III.
Rhonda’s adventurous side continued as a teenager, riding her dirt bike that earned her the nickname Rhonda Honda Motormouth. Along with her love of gab, Rhonda’s contagious laugh and spunky nature attracted friends, and her caring quality kept them for life. Those who knew Rhonda loved Rhonda, a beautiful soul who always saw the good in people and the brighter side of everything.
Early on, Rhonda inherited her father’s restless itch for change, moving from Fort Collins to Durango and from California to Maine. She loved music, animals, skiing, traveling and embracing life and people with a bear-sized hug.
After settling in Fort Collins and finding her partner, Rhonda had Casey and Caleb, taking on parenthood with a mother-bear ferocity. Rhonda would do anything for her kids, and she did, raising them alone for years through good and tough times with love, strength and courage.
Rhonda channeled her caring side in life, making friends easily, and on the job, working as a caregiver for senior citizens. Her brightness extended from her heart to her mind, and Rhonda found wisdom and hope in her elderly patients, sharing their stories containing life lessons with friends and family.
Though her life was cut too short, Rhonda brought kindness and happiness to the world. She leaves behind a rainbow of memories that will continue to soothe a mountain of broken hearts for years to come. Rest in peace, dear Rhonda. We love you.
