Sandra, Sandy to most, was born to Raymond and Dora Babcock on April 13th, 1960, at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Her brothers Alan and David eagerly greeted their little sister.
Sandra and her family spent the next several years bouncing around the country as is normal for military families. Upon their father’s retirement from the Air Force, the family finally settled in Lyons, Colorado. Sandra was in grade school at the time, and she would go on to graduate from Lyons High School.
After High School, she joined the United States Army and served in South Korea. It was while still in the Army that she met and married fellow soldier Jerry Raynor. She would be honorably discharged in 1982. In 1984 the couple welcomed their son Jerry L. Babcock. Jerry was born at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver Colorado. Jerry’s grandparents would have a profound influence on their much-loved grandson.
Sandra was an active mother and served for several years as a volunteer for the Loveland Youth Football League that her son participated in. She also volunteered with the Rocky Mountain Regional Science Bowl as well as being a percussionist for the Loveland Belly Belles dancing troop. All the while being a long-time draftsman for a contractor to the Western Area Power Administration.
Sandra is survived by her brothers and their spouses, her son and his wife Terri and her much loved grandsons Eli, Gavin, and Wyatt of Gig Harbor, Washington.
She will be missed by many.
