When you look up the word gentleman in dictionary every one of those words describe Terry. I played football with him at Lanphier for 2 years. He had a winner's mentality and desire to be fair at same time. To have both traits is rare in athletes He
will be missed.

My memories of Terry take me back to my high school days and playing football and basketball with him and home with him (and Nick Groesch), stopping at Maher's Drug Store for a fountain coke. while a pleasure in being his team mate, the real honor came in being his friend. My condolences to his family.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to all of Terry's family and friends.  I played football at Augustana College with Terry.  He was a flat out stud on the football team, besides being one of the neatest guys that I had a chance to be around.  I only saw him a couple of time since we all left school, but he had the same positive attitude and personality at those times.  I'm envious of those family and friends that had the chance to spend time with Terry over all these years.  He was very obviously "raised right" and and I'm sure that he always carried himself that way!

Matt and the entire Drengwitz family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I’ve known Terry for over 30 years. He was a special man. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. We shared a passion for sports and my one regret is we talked about playing golf together and never did. Initially it was our work obligations, then logistics with him in Mexico. Seems as though most of the times I called after Terry retired, he was either on the golf course or on his way. He was enjoying retirement!  I will miss his smile and laugh. One day he and I will play Augusta National in Heaven. May you find peace and comfort in knowing he is probably playing 18 with God, Jesus and Arnold Palmer today. You all will be in my prayers.

Terry was my football coach at Glenwood.  I was very sad to see of his passing.  Good Redskin Memories.  You wouldn't recognize the school today.

Just wanted to extend my hearfelt sympathies to your family.  I went to school with his sister Becky.

I played basketball with Terry in high school.  There is no better way to define Terry than a "great guy''.   He was the guy that everyone liked.  My condolences to his entire family.

I remember Coach Drengwitz  from Glenwood High School.  He was a good man, an inspirational teacher and a friend for a student in High School who needed was just trying to figure out who he is.  I'm glad he was there when I needed him.  

I played basketball and football for Coach Drengwitz at Glenwood in the 70's and early 80's. He was a patient teacher and enthusiastic coach. Always enjoyed being a part of his teams, and he is a big part of my fond memories of growing up in Chatham. My deepest condolences to his family and  friends. Sending you peace and strength. 

Terry was one of the finest persons I have ever had the chance to know and interact with as a young man and adult;  at church,  at his high school, on the ball field and everywhere else; as are all the Drengwitz family members.

Terry arrived at Glenwood HS the year after I graduated. While I didn’t get to play for him, he coached my brother and many of my friends. He was a perfect fit mentoring under Charlie Cottle. I got to know Terry as I’ve lived in St. Louis for almost 40 years. He had tremendous impact on  the lives of many young men he coached at Glenwood. He was one of those guys I was always glad to see, and I always felt better after talking to him. Sincere condolences to the family.  

So sorry to hear of Terry's passing.  We were HS classmates.  My condolences to your family!

I’ll never forget Terry taking Matt and i to Mexico many years ago.  Terry would tell us stories of how he was going to sell margaritas and salsa there once he retired.  We will miss you Terry and Matt we love you brother.  

The Kastl family in Illinois was saddened to hear about Terry.  We send our thoughts and prayers to Terry's family.  May your memories bring you comfort, peace and strength, during this difficult time.
