

Born January 17, 1926 to Aurther and Barbra Sprague at her grandmother Vogels house west of Fort Lupton Colorado, and passed away March 21, 2024 at 98 years old at the Good Samaritan Loveland Village.
Thelma was a long-time resident of the Berthoud Colorado area, with time spent in Denver, New York, Casper and Story Wyoming.
Thelma married Harold Eugene “Gene” Bennet October 22, 1948 in Denver Colorado. Gene passed away September 4, 1999.
When Thelma graduated Longmont High school in 1943, she went to school to learn morse code communication in Nebraska and was hired by Western Union in New York where she lived until the end of World War 2. She was on staff when the end of the European conflict was sent over the wire and was one of the first to know that the war was over. She could not wait to move back to Colorado and family. Thelma then worked at Gates Rubber Company in Denver until she was married and moved to Casper and had her first child Owen in 1952. Owen passed away June 1, 2020. Thelma and Gene then bought the homestead that Gene was born and raised in 1956 and moved back to Berthoud. Bruce arrived in 1957 and then Warren in 1963. To bring in more income Thelma was a school bus driver for Thompson R2J school district from 1965 till 1982. Thelma and Gene moved to Story Wyoming in 1984 to be care takers of Thorne Rider Youth Camp. After Genes death, Thelma stayed and took care of the camp by herself until 2003 when she moved back to Berthoud.
Thelma loved to sew and made clothes for herself, husband and sons. She was very observant of what she ate and drank and knew what worked for her body. How else do you get to 98 with all your teeth, no cancer and a good heart?
Thelma had three sons and seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
