She had a deep love of nature whether it was fishing in the Colorado mountains or rescuing a baby squirrel that fell out of a tree. She often shared photos of beautiful sunrises and magnificent thunderstorms. Those who knew her well know that she had an incredibly big heart, especially for animals, including her dog, Lola, who she took everywhere that she was able. Her fierce love of animals fueled a dream she had to one day buy a property and provide a home for homeless and senior dogs.
She found her passion in the restaurant business and held a variety of jobs over the past several years. Her incredible work ethic was quickly noticed and rewarded by those who hired her. Shortly before her death, she was thrilled to have taken a role as a general manager for the first time.
Trying to summarize her short life in a few paragraphs is difficult. She loved music, sports, cooking and dancing. She would often reminisce about dancing, having danced competitively when she was younger and later dancing on her college dance team and with the Colorado Eagles.
Whitney was a beautiful, courageous and nurturing soul who touched many and will be missed by many. She is survived by her mother, Leanne Sarbaugh; father, Doug Sarbaugh; sister, Megan Sarbaugh; fiancé, Jacob Eighmy; grandparents, Cheryl and Gerald Whipple, Joanne Sarbaugh; aunt, Rachel (Jeff) Carroll; uncles, Scott (Kathy) Sarbaugh and Bruce (Jana) Sarbaugh; and her beloved dog, Lola. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Duane Sarbaugh.
There will be a short visitation on Saturday, April 2nd, starting at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm and a reception. All will take place at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland, Colorado. Her ashes will be spread in the Colorado mountains later this year so she may become part of the mountains that brought her peace.
