

Long time Lake County resident and business owner, Chuck McCarley passed away November 1, 2012 at his home in Lower Lake after a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer. He was born October 31, 1960 in Reedly, Calif. to Calvin and Irene McCarley. He was a 1979 Lower Lake graduate. In 1980 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he graduated from submarine school and served 4 years. In 1988 Chuck and his dad opened and operated Lake County Gas in Lower Lake until selling the business in 1999. In 2001, Chuck and his wife Rose built and opened their business, CJS Ranch Supply & Apparel in Middletown.
Chuck enjoyed life, especially spending time with his wife, Rose of 23 years and their 3 children; Christopher, Joseph and Samantha. He spent countless miles and days driving them to compete in rodeos. He was always their number one fan and supporter. He was Vice-President, State Representative and official timer for Dist. 2 Calif. High School Rodeo Association.
Chuck loved being outdoors, hunting, hiking and cycling. Chuck was an avid cyclist. In 1999 he conquered the Death Ride, cycling 129 miles with 16,000ft climb in the California Alps. Chuck was a member of the Shasta Wheelman.
Chuck was a member of Clear Lake Callayomi Lodge #183 where he served Master of the Lodge in 1995. Chuck was also a member of the Shrine and Scottish Rite.
Chuck is survived by his wife Rose, sons; Christopher and Joseph, daughter; Samantha, all of Lower Lake. He also leaves behind his mother; Irene McCarley of Vacaville, sisters; Pryia (Patty) Darshini of Rancho Cordova, Darlene (Steve), and nephew Nick Crumbo of Vacaville. He is preceded in death by his father, Calvin.
A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be at the Clear lake Callayomi Lodge on Saturday November 24th, at 1p.m.
