

Vivian Rebecca Pray passed away peacefully on March 27, 2012 at the age of 80. Her husband Carlos preceded her in death in 2008. She leaves behind daughters; Laura Pray of Peoria, AZ, and Denise Pray of Carmel Valley, CA; granddaughter Heather Fansher of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandson Eric Rankin of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews; sisters Carolyn Short, Virginia Long, Gloria Crivello, Ruth Nutt, and Yvonne Burright; brothers Ralph Sory and Melvin (Joe) Sory; sister-in-law Susie Sory and brothers-in-law Gene Short, Fred Long, John Crivello, R.G. Nutt, Roger Burright and Larry Corah. She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Mamie Sory; sisters Charlotte Corah and Geraldine Williams, and brother-in-law Marty Williams. Vivian was born in Stigler, Oklahoma, lived most of her life in Monterey, CA and retired in Kelseyville, CA in 1987.
Vivan attended Monterey High School. She worked 23 years in the Monterey Municipal Court and retired as Branch Manager in 1985. One of Vivian’s favorite past time was competing in water ski racing, belonging to the Northern California Boat & Ski Club. She was also an active golfer and member of the Hidden Valley 40-9ers in Lake County.
A Memorial Service was held at San Carlos Cathedral, 500 Church Street, Monterey, CA on Tuesday April 3rd at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to one of her favorite cancer charities Sponsoring Survivorship. PO Box 1924, Lakeport, CA 95453.
