Ada Faydell Van Horn was born on August 2, 1942 and passed away on May 2, 2018 after a lengthy illness. Due to someone else’s gift of life, she had seven extra wonderful years. She loved life to the fullest.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie and Earl McAnear, her husband, Harry Van Horn Jr, son, Parks Wayne Van Horn, daughter Lisa Grace Van Horn, grandson, Sean Van Horn, and also a brother, Dewey McAnear.
She is survived by a son Charles and wife Jennifer Van Horn of Denton, TX, a son-in-law, Scott Sellers and grandson Connor Sellers of Denton, TX, one brother, J.C. McAnear and wife Linda of McLean, TX, her sisters, Wanda DeBusk and Mert Carey of Sweetwater, TX, Peggy Clough of Cypress, TX , Aleese Bensen of Plano, TX and her special neighbor, Vicky Solis of Lubbock, TX .
Ada loved crocheting. She donated numerous hats and slippers she made to the homeless, and also hats for cancer patients. She was a woman of many talents. She could grow anything and loved to give others the fruit of her labor. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes.
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held today, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel, with her nephew, Charley Garcia, officiating. She would love for all to become organ donors.
