Mr. Smith grew up learning how to farm and raise different livestock, which is where his love for wearing overalls came about. He enjoyed fishing and doing anything mechanical.
Albert joined the Army from 1949-1952. He worked as a police officer at Lubbock Police, and then spent 27 years at Lubbock County Sherriff’s Dept.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Smith; children, Paul Smith and Evelyn Kirksey; 4 grandchildren, Garrett, Sarah, Jacob and Jordan; and 4 great-grandchildren.
