She was born in Lubbock, Texas to Earvin Lee and Mary Rosa Carter on December 30, 1936. Alma attended OL Slaton where she finished ninth grade and she went on to obtain her GED later in life.
Alma worked at JC Penney for many years as a sales associate and retired from there. She enjoyed playing online games, especially candy crush and watching classic westerns. She was also a big Dallas Cowboys fan until recently where she quickly became a Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd and her children, James and wife Brenda, Jimmy and wife Pam, Linda, Jesse and wife Ralynn, Carolyn and husband Bobby, Johnny and wife Gracie, Kenneth and wife Sondra, 18 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Earvin and Rosa Carter, one brother James, three sisters Murle, Pearle and Virginia.
Alma's visitation will be on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home's Abbey Chapel, located at 5740 West 19th St. Lubbock, Texas. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10:00 am at Resthaven Funeral Home's Abbey Chapel, with interment following at Resthaven Memorial Park.
