Amador Rios Franco (known as AR and Ame by his close friends and family), of Lubbock, passed away on March 28, 2026. He was born on September 27, 1942, in Slaton, Texas, and retired on January 1, 2012.
He married Mary Elizabeth (Liz) on June 5, 1974, in Lubbock, Texas. They stood together wherever God took them and never failed to support one another.
AR was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared grace and love with everyone he met. Throughout his life, he made friends with everyone he came in contact with. He was always honest, friendly, and sincerely cared about others. He was both smart and witty; his humor could bring a laugh from even the most stoic person. He dedicated countless hours to helping family and friends, both of whom he loved endlessly. There was never a more faithful and dutiful man. To describe him as dependable is truly an understatement, anything you asked of him, he would deliver. He was also a mentor and a great leader throughout his years as an accountant, working alongside many friends and his lovely wife.
He is survived by his wife, Liz Franco of Lubbock; two sons, Emmito (Joe) of Rockwall, Texas, and Kris Franco of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren, Joshua and Brandi of Greenville, Texas, Ashley, Le’Annza, Alyssa, Idalis, Sicily, Kristin, and Casidee (Cas) of Lubbock, Texas; and, most importantly, he lives on in the memories of everyone who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at Lake Ridge Chapel in Lubbock, Texas.
