

Annie Jean Griffin, 76, passed away Thursday March 6, 2014 in Lubbock. She was born May 11, 1937 in Gunnison CO to Mark and Elizabeth Osborne. She married Avery Don Griffin November 11, 1956 in Denver CO. Jean lived the Air Force life with her husband moving about the country. She retired from AT&T in 1999. She attended some college but found joy in raising her children. She was a Den mother and secretary for Weblos, a Girl Scout leader, sang in various church choirs, and taught children Sunday school classes. She loved reading and studying the Bible and sharing her faith.
Survivors include her children, William Griffin and wife Melodie of Eldora, Iowa, Beth Ruffa and husband Frank of Fremont CA, Donna Jean Burt of Lubbock and Tom Griffin and wife Kristie of Lubbock; grandchildren, Eugene Griffin, Avery Griffin, Andrew Ruffa, Moya Reyes-Ruffa, Kirstin Tipps, Ryan Burt, Caleb Griffin and Bethany Griffin; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Mark Osborne Jr.; sister Margaret Griffith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Avery Don Griffin.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 9, 2014 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in Resthaven Fu-neral Home. A memorial will be Monday March 10 at 10:30am in Bacon Height Baptist Church. A private burial will be in Quitaque, TX. Contributions may be made to Bacon Heights Baptist Church, American Diabetes Assoc or American Heart Assoc.
