He graduated from Abilene High School in 1953 and attended Hardin Simmons University. He served 8 years in the Naval Reserves. Ben married Norma Haddox on September 17, 1966 and they lived their 49 years together in Lubbock, TX. Ben was a long time member of Redbud Baptist Church.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents, sister Billye Flo Wallis and brother Joe Wallis. Survivors include his wife, Norma; daughter Stacie Styron and husband Toby of Littlefield, son Craig Wallis and wife Chanda of Centerton, AR; five grandchildren: TJ Styron of Roscoe, Elizabeth Styron of Littlefield, Kris, Kayla, and Joseph Wallis of Centerton, AR.
