

Betty Sue English, age 87, of Lubbock passed away December 20, 2016. She was born April 22, 1929 in Amherst, Texas to Elbert and Blanche House. She graduated from Amherst High School then attended secretarial school in Fort Worth, Texas.
She married the love of her life, William Paul (Bill) English, on January 13, 1951. They made their home in Lubbock and enjoyed 66 years of marriage. Betty was a member of the banking community in Lubbock for over 30 years.
She was proud to be a Texan and had many cherished memories of growing up in Amherst. Betty was a wonderful mother and adored by her family. She had a contagious laugh and was a wonderful cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Elbert and Lawrence House. She leaves behind a loving husband, Bill, and their three children, daughter Dru English of Little Rock, Arkansas and sons Paul and Steven English of Lubbock; two grandsons; Dr. Jeff Palmer and wife Amy of Little Rock, Arkansas and Shawn English and wife Charleigh of Greenwood, Arkansas and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Kassabaum, of Fort Worth, Texas.
