Billie was born in Shamrock, Texas on September 1, 1928 to Grover Leslie and Myrtle Darrow. She attended Shamrock High School and married Harold Landrum in 1947. The family had its start in Shamrock followed by moves to several Panhandle area communities before settling in Canyon for over 20 years. She and Harold moved to Lubbock in 1979. She was a devoted wife for 72 years and a loving mother who nurtured and cared for her sons. Having a strong faith, Billie encouraged regular church attendance and was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Lubbock for many years.
Billie was preceded in death by husband, Harold, sisters, Loraine and Mae, and brother, J.C. She is survived by sons, Mark Landrum and wife, Billee of Amarillo, TX, Terry Landrum and wife, Jo Lynn of Brownwood, Jerry Landrum and wife, Judy of Lantana, TX, and Randy Landrum of Lubbock, TX, and nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren from Texas to New Mexico to Tennessee to New York.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church or Meals on Wheels.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in the Abbey Chapel 5-7pm
Graveside Services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 17 with a Memorial Church service to follow at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 11 a.m.
