Billy Jack Parker

Celebration of Life services for Billy Jack Parker, 94, of Lubbock, will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, September 25, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Services are under the personal direction of the professionals at Resthaven Funeral Home.

Billy passed from this life Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home in Lubbock. He was born December 14, 1922 in Brinkman, OK to the late Fred Fosque and Josie May (Wilemon) Parker. Billy received his Master’s in Education and served as a Teacher, Coach and Principal in several area schools including Muleshoe and Lubbock. He retired from the Central Office in Lubbock.

Billy served during WWII as a Corporal in the 6oth Army Air Force.

He married Frankie Jean “Bobby” Lewis in 1941 in Mangum, OK. She preceded him in death June 29, 2011. Billy was also preceded in death by his son, Jack, in 1999, and 5 brothers.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are 3 brothers, Fred Fosque Parker, Jr., Dewey Lee parker and Kenny Ray Parker; sister, Ruth Fox; granddaughters, Lori Oxford and Heather Coiner; grandsons, David Parker and wife, Carolyn, and Billy Parker; great-grandchildren, Bryan Oxford and wife, Lindsey, Staci Cloud and husband, Justin, Meaghan Oxford, Hope Parker and Reese Parker and numerous nieces and nephews.
