

Services for will be held at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010 with Dr. Ken Horn officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Resthaven Funeral Home on Wednesday April 21, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m.
Brent was born August 9, 1954 at the Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA. He grew up on a farm in Kansas. He was a 1976 graduate of Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS, with a degree in Automotive Technology and moved to Lubbock in 1983. He married Dr. Mary Eberle on December 17, 1987. He was the owner of Best Performance Auto in Lubbock.
Brent had an extraordinary gift for repair of all things mechanical and loved to work on automobile restorations. He was an avid scuba diver and was a member of a local diving club, Aqua-Dilla Dive Club. He was a good friend to many, many people and was always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved to learn, to travel with his wife, and to visit with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife Mary and son Alex Popp; one brother, Bill Popp of Lubbock; two sisters, Robin Howser of Guthrie, OK, and Roberta Gales of Riverside, MO; four nieces, Sarah (Gales) Wilkins of Kansas City, MO, Kayla Gales of Jackson, NJ, Amanda Popp of Helotes, and Erin Eberle of Plano, TX; two nephews, Travis Howser of Guthrie, OK and Austin Eberle of Plano, TX; parents-in-law Bob and Betty Eberle of Plano, TX; brother-in-law John Eberle and John's wife Stephanie of Plano, TX; sister-in-law Julie Eberle of Dallas, TX; father, Vernon Popp of Great Bend, KS; step-father Kenneth Allen of Lubbock; and step-sister Les Boudreaux of Levelland, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eldena Allen.
