

C.D. Morse peacefully joined his heavenly Father and love of his life Linda on August 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. C.D. was born on January 28, 1937 to Doyle and Edna Morse. He joined the United States Army in 1954. After serving our country he went to work for Navajo Freight Line where he worked his way to Vice President of Operations. While working at Navajo he met Dick Lopez where they became fast friends, brothers and “Pards” to this day. C.D. returned to Lubbock in 1977 and started Hobby Auto. C.D. will be remembered as a Man of his word with honorable integrity. His great relationship with The Lord was demonstrated as he worshiped at Quaker Avenue Church of God. C.D. was a member of the Hillcrest Country Club where he became a member of the “Hole in one Club” on September 25, 2000. He was also an avid horseman.
November 24, 1986 C.D. married the love of his life Linda Preston, their love for each other never faltered. At C.D. and Linda’s home children were always present. As with most families the time came for C.D. and Linda to raise five of his grandchildren, Misty, Christi, Loyd, Charlene and Layton. Tee Taw and G-Ma became a staple force in their lives. His great granddaughter, Kayla was her Tee Taw’s and G-Ma’s shining star and lived with him until his death.
C.D. was preceded in death by his parents, beloved sister Betty and her husband Bill and most importantly the love of his life Linda Morse.
C.D. is survived by his children, Don Morse, Sherri Campbell, Joe Dee Morse and wife Brenda, Kenneth Preston and Stacey Cole; sister Gail Couch and husband Wayne, brother Homer Morse and wife Terri. Along with the five grandchildren he had 6 more grandchildren, Courtney, Kimbra, Jeff, Brandon, Jenny and Dylan; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Services will be held Thursday August 14, 2014 at 1:00pm in the Quaker Ave. Church of God with Brother Bob Bohannon officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family invites friends to come and remember C.D. on August 13 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Contributions may be made to the Quaker Ave Church of God.
