

Carol Rae McDonald, 81, surrounded by family and friends, departed this life on February 20, 2013 to begin a new life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born Carol Rae Lockard on January 10, 1932 in Norton, KS to Loyal and Carmen Lockard, she was a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was a member of the Sunset Church of Christ and eternally grateful for the spiritual companionship she found there. Following graduation from Norton High School, Carol worked as a bank teller in Denver, Colorado where she met the love of her life Daniel Rufus McDonald on a bus returning home. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, husband Daniel and infant daughter Sarah. Blessed with a sharp wit and dry humor, Carol would often test and challenge those she loved.
She is survived by daughter Kathryn D. Carroll (Randy) of Lubbock, Todd (Vickie) of Dothan, Alabama and Scott (Sarah) of Shallowater grand-daughters Madison and Taylor, grand-sons Connor and Daniel, step grand-daughter Allison, and step grand-son Andrew.
Visition will be held today, February 22, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Resthaven Funeral Home.Graveside services will be held Saturday February 23 at 1:00pm at the City of Lubbock Cemetery
