Carole was the daughter of Beatrice and Luther Duckworth. She grew up in Texas and attended Lubbock High School, graduating from the class of 1950. On February 4, 1952, she married Raymond P. Claborn, with whom she shared 32 years of marriage until his passing.
For several years, she opened her home to care for children—a role she embraced with patience and kindness.
She found pleasure in crocheting afghans, immersing herself in books, and listening to her favorite CDs. She will be remembered for her fondness of owls and her wonderful sense of humor.
She is remembered by her children: Helen Claborn and Jana (Brad) Puryear; her honorary son Johnny Terry and his wife Loretta, and her daughter-in-law Carolyn Claborn; Carole’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Robbie (John) D. Breshers, Poppi (Jerry) Bumpas, Jennifer Puryear, and Bucky (Marcie) Puryear; great-grandchildren: Andi (Mitchell) James, Madison(Evan) Puryear, Alli (Michael) Hines, Lawson Abbott, Logan (Danna) Abbott, Skyler Puryear, Lincoln Bumpas, Sonny Gomez, and Brady Puryear; as well as great-great-grandchildren: Zyler James, Jett James, Stetson Hines, Bennett Abbott, and Kalli-Rhea Hines.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond P. Claborn; her parents Beatrice and Luther Duckworth; and her son Wayne Claborn.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a memorial donation to Disabled American Veterans. The family would like to thank Dr. Wael F. Qubti and Resthaven Funeral Home.
