

Funeral Services for Cecil Bartlett, 74, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012, from 4-6:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home. Cecil passed away Friday, July 20, at Whisperwood Nursing Home.
Cecil was born February 27, 1938, in Littlefield, Texas, to Cecil and Allie Bartlett. He graduated from Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock, Texas, in 1956, and then worked for National Cash Register (N.C.R.) for 25 years. He married Carol Jean Naylor on April 18, 1965, in Littlefield, Texas. By 1991, he owned and operated South Plains Stationary, servicing banks and restaurants both in Lubbock and outlying areas.
Cecil was a Major in the Army National Guard, serving with the T-Patch 36th Division. He was a 32nd degree Mason. A longtime member and elder at First Christian Church of Lubbock, Texas, Cecil later moved his membership to the First Baptist Church in Lubbock, where he was a committed member (and at one time, president) of the First Baptist Church Downtown Bible Study. He enjoyed horseback riding, going to Texas Tech football games, and spending summers in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
He is survived by his daughter, Jay Kay Bartlett Cunningham, of Sugar Land, Texas; one grandson, Cade Scott Cunningham; and two sisters Jerry Anne O’Dell of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Kaye Lockwood, of Littlefield, Texas.
