

Clive J. Kinghorn passed away Sunday morning January 18, 2015. Clive J. Kinghorn was born August 23, 1937 in Rigby, Idaho to Wilmer and Edith Kinghorn. Clive was the second oldest of seven siblings. Clive served in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier Yorktown on two Far East cruises. After discharge, Clive attended college for a short time and then served a two-year church mission to the British Isles. He married Janice Kinghorn (Holland) and then went on to receive degrees from Ricks College, Brigham Young University, Ohio University, and Okla-homa State University. Clive moved his family to Lubbock in August of 1970. He taught in the Department of Mass Communications at Texas Tech University and was the faculty director of KTXT-FM until retirement in August of 2001. Clive was the driving force in getting KOHM-FM on the air and served as its general manager for 13 years. After retirement, he and his wife served as church missionaries in the Olongapo, Philippines mission for 22 months.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan (Hansen). He is survived by his wife; brothers, Durrell, Keith, and John, and sisters Karen (Hone) and Joann (Randall).
His legacy lives on in son Brent, his wife Cynthia (Clinger), and children Kolbe, Branden, Tyler, Bailee, and Cade; his daughter Kim (Steanson), her husband James, and children Riley, Harrison, Connor, and Cole; and his son Scott, his wife Car-rie (Larsen), and children Brenna, Ava, Nate, and Gwen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Clive J. Kinghorn Scholarship Fund at the Texas Tech University Alumni Association.
Visitation will be Friday, Janu-ary 23, 2015, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel at 7014 Frankford, Lub-bock, Texas at 11:00 am.
