

Born on June 19, 1935, he was the heartbeat of his entire family. The touchstone of Dale’s life was his love for Jesus Christ, devotion to his family, and the quiet strength of character he exhibited to all who knew him. He was known for his patience, kindness, and peaceful spirit. Those who knew him best would say his greatest strength was his deep empathy and unwavering love and care for his family.
His wife of 69 years, Brenda Beck Travis, was a partner and companion in every sense of the word, sharing their love of Christ and devotion to family. Through life’s ups and downs and through every adventure, they never left each other's side.
Dale is survived by his wife, Brenda Beck Travis, and their children: Dale Vernon Travis II and his wife Elizabeth, James Beck Travis and his wife Stacy, and Lori Travis Steele and her husband Ronny; five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren His legacy lives on through them and through the values of patience, compassion, and family that he instilled in all who knew him.
In accordance with Dale’s wishes, his life will be celebrated with a public gathering where friends and loved ones are invited to share memories and honor the life he lived.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Lake Ridge Chapel on Thursday, March 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. All who knew Dale are warmly invited to attend.
A private burial ceremony will follow for his immediate family.
Dale will be remembered not only for the life he lived but for the love he gave so freely to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the example he set and the family he cherished will carry his spirit forward for generations.
