

He was a veteran in the United States Marine Corps and attended South Dakota State University on a football scholarship while continuing reserve service. Dan left school to return home to help run his family businesses.
Dan later moved to Lubbock where he met and married his love of a lifetime and started a family. He developed a passion for cars, wings, technology, and anything that went fast. He was an adventurer and loved trying new, daring things. He shared his passion with his family and everyone else that he could, but cars remained his number one passion – after his family.
Dan was an integral part of his children’s and grandchildren’s lives, adding exciting skills and lessons, especially his son’s interest in scouting, adventurous hobbies, and athletics.
Preceded in death by his parents, Duran and Lou Emma (Jane) Ratliff.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Judy Ratliff, of Lubbock, TX; children: Danny Ratliff II of Midland, TX; Cassandra Williams & Christina Ratliff of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren: Scotty Williams & Emma Williams of Lubbock, TX, Gage Ratliff & Tobin Ratliff of Midland, TX; siblings: Tony Ratliff of Spur, TX, Robin Workman of Portsmouth, Virginia; numerous other relatives and friends.
Dan lived a full and memorable life with many entertaining stories and will be greatly missed.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel.
