He graduated from Lubbock High and served in the Navy until November 1970 when he returned from duty to become a father and start his long legacy in the drag racing community. He was a gifted mechanic and fabricator who built many race cars from the ground up over the next 5 decades, for and with his closest and dearest friends.
Mike retired in 2019 from X-Fab where he headed the quartz welding shop. He maintained a close relationship with many of the great people he worked with over the years.
My dad died peacefully and will be missed by a great many people whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace with those who preceded him, and be joined in time by those he left behind.
His memorial will be at the Elks Lodge 3409 Milwaukee Ave on January 18 at 1:00, all of his friends are welcome.
