David Ray Schrader

David Ray Schrader who lived a full life of 60 years, joined his Heavenly Father on July 27,2010. David was born November 13, 1949 in Gatesville, Tx to Albert and Mildred Schrader. David graduated from Loop High School in 1968 and married his High School sweetheart, Penny Shipley Schrader on July 25,1968, shortly after, they moved to Lubbock, Tx where they raised their three children. In 1999 they moved to Shallowater, Tx. David was a man who loved to spend time with his family, and loved being outdoors. His love for life, his work ethics and integrity are an inspiration to us all. David is survived by his wife, Penny Schrader of Shallowater, Tx; his oldest son , Jeff Schrader and his wife Andrea of Lubbock, Tx and a daughter Shonta Harris and her husband Jason of Shallowater, Tx, his mother Mildred Wetzel and brother Kenneth Schrader and his wife Katie of Cordele, Ga. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and three nephews, six nieces and many close friends and family members. He is proceeded in death by his son, Curtis Schrader, January, 2009, and his father Albert Schrader. Visitation will be Friday, July 30, 2010 at Resthaven Funeral Home. The family will accept friends and guest from 5:00-7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Shallowater, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family invites all of David’s friends to come and celebrate his life with them, and requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the benevolent account of Penny Schrader for the benefit of David Schrader with City Bank of Lubbock, PO Box 5060, Lubbock, Tx 79408 or 5219 City Bank Parkway, 79407, to assist with medical expenses.
