I remember Don as a friend and co-worker at Piggly Wiggly grocery store and as a fellow band member at Levelland High School.   I looked to him as an example of how to live a good life.  I saw him at some LHS reunions.   He lived with smiles and many kind words for others.   I feel honored to have known him and to have had him as a friend.    Leon Blevins, El Paso Texas

So sad to hear that our dear friend Don is no longer with us. I will always remember the fun we had sharing experiences in the Levelland High School Band and us being "just boys".  It was about 55 years ago that we last saw each other and introduced to each other our wives. Janet you may not remember me but I remember well.  Rest in Peace my friend, rest in peace.

The Copeland family and our Marcom families grew up together in First Methodist Church in Levelland.  So it was a joy after many years to find Don and his wonderful wife Janet back in our lives, first at LHS reunions and then at Covenant Lifestyles where we had workouts at different times.  We'll treasure always those smiles and quick hugs we shared with Janet and Don as we would meet and greet getting on and coming off the elevators at Lifestyles.  It's our prayer that the memories of many happy years will ease the pain of loss for all the family and that Janet's continuing commitment to wellness will help in the progress on her journey. Janet, please accept my deepest sympathy.  My favorite memories of you and Don are during our travels together.  Our first trip I think was to America's Western National Parks including the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Zion and Bryce National Parks. What a time we had looking at some of the most beautiful destinations on earth. Another trip was up to Chicago by motorcoach and boy was that a fun few days. I have so many great memories that include great food, boat rides and even a carriage ride through New Orleans. He was a wonderful man, a great traveling companion, and a true friend.

Kay and I always enjoyed visiting with you and Don in our trips to Levelland.  Sometimes we talked about RVing and sometimes about Kay's dogs, and it was always pleasant and enjoyable. God bless you and your family as you share your  memories of Don.

Dear Janet and family,  I am so sad to read about this! You and all the family are in my prayers for peace and comfort at this time! Love you girl! 💕

We would like to express our condolences to the family.  Prayers for you all as you continue to journey through this difficult time.

Don was two years ahead of me @ Levelland HS. I remember him as a quiet, courteous young man. My best memories of Don are more  recent.  We got reacquainted  over the last ten years @ school reunions. I looked forward to seeing Don and Janet each year.  She was always smiling, and Don was so pleasant to be around, PLUS, he always brought homemade candy for the group! 

Don’s presence will be greatly missed, but we will never forget him.

Having known Don since we were around 10 years old, I have many memories...playing together in the neighborhood, then later during junior high and high school days playing in the bass horn section of the LHS band.  We made a lot of band trips and had a lot of fun.  Mr. Wheeler expected us to do our best and we did!
When Don came home after his tour of duty with the US Army, he brought a pretty English wife named Janet and a beautiful baby named Vicki.  We worked at Piggly Wiggly for a while before Don began to work on the railroad.  Two more pretty little girls were added to their family and our children 
enjoyed visiting with their family.
During the last few years we did not get to spend much time together, but that did not diminish the love and friendship we shared.
