

Donald Joe Hancock went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 1, 2014 surrounded by his family. Services will be at Resthaven Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014. Born to William and Frances Hancock July 30, 1940 in Melrose, N.M. Don served in the U.S. Navy-San Diego, C.A. 1957-1959. He married DeLoris Voyles on December 21, 1985. Don retired from Fleming Foods after 16 years; he was a light hearted, fun loving gentle and kind man. He had a heart of gold and his faith in God was immeasurable. He loved Texas Tech Football, and the Dallas Cowboys, his love of history led him to many battlefields. He was a licensed pilot and loved flying small planes. Don is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Ronnie and Milton; and 3 sisters, Billie Yvonne and Datsy. Don is survived by wife DeLoris; a brother, Wayne Hancock of Lubbock; and 1 sister, Linda Smith of Levelland; 4 sons, Mark Hancock of Clovis, NM, William Hancock of Hartville, Missouri, Rocky Voyles, and Marty Voyles of Lubbock; 1 daughter, Pam Fulton of Lubbock; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends. He is also survived by his best friend he called brother, Charles Rogers.Arrangements under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home & Cemetery, Lubbock, TX.
