Donna Ward

Donna Marie Ward, age 62, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in Lubbock. She was born on December 26, 1962, in Olney, Texas, to the late Richard Clyde Ward and Sarah Jayne (Hall) Ward.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel.

Donna grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and an MBA in Healthcare Management. Donna and her life partner, Kris Altman, celebrated their commitment to one another in a ceremony on March 1, 2002, and welcomed their daughter, Madison Altman, on May 5, 2004.

Donna loved life and cherished her relationship with God. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, playing softball, basketball, and tennis, and watching the Hallmark Channel. She had a fulfilling career in computer programming and management. Donna was deeply devoted to God, her family, and her extended community. She loved to laugh, sing, and dance, embracing every moment of life’s journey.

She is survived by her life partner, Kris Altman, and their daughter, Madison Altman; her brothers, Richard Ward and wife, Judy, and Ross Ward and wife, Kelley; nephew, Aaron Ward and wife, Meagan; and niece, Amber Ward-Patrick and husband, Justin. She is also survived by great-nephews Dylan Patrick and Mason Garay; great-nieces Reagan Ward-Martin and husband, Kolton, Mikayla Ward, and Gia Calderon; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Clyde Ward and Sarah Jayne Ward.
