She lived most of her life In Levelland and Lubbock Texas. She was a member of Church of Christ. She graduated from South Plains College, Texas Tech for bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She Also had her Realtor License, and LPC for counseling. She taught at Levelland, Texas and Counseling at Cactus Elementary. She also was a counselor at Post Elementary. Dorieta was adamant about the importance of education. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Rogers.
She is survived by 2 daughters, a brother, one granddaughter, four grandsons, one great grandson, and two great granddaughters, and several nieces and nephews.
