Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 13, 2010, in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Dr. Steve McMeans officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Friday at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Doris was born on January 8, 1928, in McCoy, Texas, to the late John Franklin and Ola Halson (Minick) Creswell. She married R.E. “Pete” Lang on July 17, 1981. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2002. Doris was a homemaker. She moved to Lubbock in 1965 from Snyder. She was a Baptist.
Doris is preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Betty Chenausky of Mesa, Arizona; five sons: Tom Fikes of Snohomish, Washington, Daymon Fikes of Monterey, Mexico, Raymond Fikes of Fountain Hills, Arizona, Jimmy Fikes of Lubbock, Texas, and Richard Fikes of Idalou, Texas; three step-children: Peggy Burks, Nancy Haynie, and Jerry Lang; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
