

Eddie Foy Jackson, was born to Alonzo and Mamie Bell Jackson on August 29, 1947 in Sundown, TX. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966, where he was a combat veteran during the Vietnam era. Eddie earned several metals including the Purple Heart. He attended Victoria Community College in 1974 and received his degree in business.
Eddie met Irma in college and they got married on April 10, 1975, and were happily married for 45 years On February 17, 1982 they were blessed with their one and only beloved son, Eddie Jerome Jackson.
He worked at Reese Air Force Base from August 1978 until the AFB closed in September of 1997. Then worked at Managed Care Center until he retired in 2013.
On March 9, 2020, our Heavenly Father decided to bring him home to rest, Eddie was a loving husband, father, and uncle whom will be truly missed. He will be remembered for being a Pontiac and Cadillac enthusiast, having fast, clean cars, riding around with his music his domino and chess skills, and being a true Dallas Cowboy fan.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Jerome Jackson; parents, Alonzo and Mamie Bell Jackson; loving sisters, MOB Jones, Emma Ola Lawrence, and Emmer Lee Whitfield; brothers, L.J. and Raymond; nieces: Lucy Mae, Mamie Sue, Stephanie, Princess; and nephews, Jerry, Joe, Clint, Lowell and Wayne.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Irma Jackson; sisters, Betty Morgan, Elizabeth Wiley; brothers, Alonso Jackson, Jr. and Jimmie Ray Jackson; a host of precious nieces; nephews; aunts, Velma Dennis and Lee Ora Redic.
Eddie’s wife Irma, wishes to express her gratitude to all who have come by, sent flowers, cards, or have supported her during his journey to Heaven. Special thanks to his sisters, Betty Moran and Elizabeth Wiley who have always traveled many miles to be by his side. Thank you to my brother and sister, and all my nieces and nephew for all your support and kindness.
Special thanks to the Whitfield family who have been by Eddie’s side and have also come to his aid for several years. Thank you Robert for all you have done. You and Eddie were more than just uncle and nephew, and have been here for us through thick and thin and we are forever thankful. You will forever be special to us and have hold a special place in our hearts. Also, special thanks you to my brother and sister, who have called every day and to all the nieces and nephews for all your support and kindness that will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park with Military Honors.
