Edith was born April 28th, 1942, in Childress, TX. To Sol Ross Dawson and Velma Dawson.
Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at Shallowater Independent School District for 20 years, becoming the superintendent secretary, and later worked for the City of Shallowater until her retirement in 2017.
On May 26th, 1960, in a very small ceremony, she married the love of her life, H.L. Martin; they were married for 65 years. Together, they had 2 daughters and eventually made their home in Shallowater.
Edith is survived by her husband, H.L. Martin; daughters, Shanna Friday and Stefanie Gravett (Chad); granddaughters Sydney Brown (Cole), Katie Jackins (Tyler); and great-grandchildren Charley Brown, Hazel, and Henry Jackins.
