Elfrieda Cromwell

Celebration of life services for Elfrieda B. Cromwell 86 will be held at 1 pm, Friday, June 8, 2012 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Rev. Shera Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Resthaven Funeral Home. She passed away Tuesday June 5, 2012 in Slaton Care Center after a brief illness.

Elfrieda was born on April 19, 1926 in Bosque County, Texas, to the late Fred and Martha (Behnke) Krueger. She graduated from Valley Mills High School in 1944.

Elfrieda married Fred Lange in April 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1970. She married Lester Doherty in January 1960 and he preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Robert Cromwell, June 29, 1984 in Idalou, Texas.

Elfrieda loved to square and round dance and was an expert seamstress who produced beautiful needle work.

Elfrieda was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Gus and Leslie Krueger, sisters; Lorraine Hayes, Vera Bell, Meta Huse and Anita Zander and a daughter; Carol Rackley.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband Robert Cromwell of Idalou, son; Gerald (Tami) Lange, Mancos, Colorado, daughters; June and Dale Lange, Helen (Tommy) Durham, Cinthia (Michael) Dawson all of Lubbock and Joy (Darrell) Fuller of Idalou, sister; Nelda Grimes of Waco, Texas, 10 grandchil-dren and 12 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, 3 stepdaughters and 1 stepson.
