

She married Ciriaco Mendoza on April 30, 1958. A loving wife and mother, “Doña Eva” never met a stranger, and she never let anyone leave her home with an empty stomach; she was a mother to many. Evangelina was a very spiritual woman with a great devotion to the Divine Mercy, Virgin Mary, and saints. She witnessed many miracles in her lifetime, and had a particular devotion to St. John Paul II, through whose intercession she believes she was cured of kidney failure. She loved cooking and visiting with family and friends.
Evangelina was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Miguel, José, Ernesto, Eleazar, Ediberto, sisters, Jovita, Anita, and Angelita, and grandsons Manuel Mendoza, Jr. and Luis Mendoza, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ciriaco, nine children: Manuel (Lucia) Mendoza, Ramon (Norma) Mendoza, Luis (Flor) Mendoza, Jesús (Magdalena) Mendoza, José (Cecilia) Mendoza, Father Andrés Mendoza, Rita Aguirre, Ciriaco (Norma) Mendoza, Jr., Maria D. (Alfredo) Barrientos, a sister Antonia, 25 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Robert Ordoñez, Dr. Rodolfo Martinez, Dr. Ruben Villa, Dr. Mark Johnson, and Dr. Roberto Solis, and all the nursing staff at Covenant Medical Center.
Friends will be welcomed on Saturday, May 9 from 10 to 11 am for viewing with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
